Here the healers stand after being introduced by name by the Inetnon Åmot Natibu/Ammwelil Safeyal Faluwasch ANA Grant Project Director, Manny Borja. Standing from right to left are:  Luis C. Cepeda (Tinian), Jesse Mundo (Tinian), Carmen M. Toves (Rota), Julita A. Calvo (Rota), Lourdes T. Manglona (Rota), Emilio A. Ayuyu (Saipan), Jose P. Cruz (Tinian), Victoria B. Aguon (Saipan). In introducing the healers, Manny Borja said, "It is with deep respect, great honor, great pride and joy that I introduce the CNMI native healers who are with us today. You, as native healers, carry the goodness and greatness of our traditional native cultures. Without you, this Symposium, with its theme, "Let us continue the practice of native medicine," would not be thought of at all. We trust that with this Symposium, you, as native healers, and we, who are non-healers, together we can strengthen our noble desire for the CNMI to continue the practice of traditional native medicine. In this way, we continue to have deep respect, great honor, great pride and joy of who we are as Native Americans."  Mr. Borja also proudly mentioned that our native healers are our silent miracle workers, keeping the goodness and greatness of our Carolinian and Chamorro cultures alive in this millennium, and, on behalf of the non-healers, thanked them with love.
