Students gather to get ready to go back to their school after participating in the traditional herbal medicine presentations in April. The herbal medicine presentations were conducted inside the "pala påla siha" (huts) at the back (beach side) of the Community and Cultural Affairs office, on Rota. More than 400 students attended the three-day CNMI traditional medicine presentations given by traditional healers Lou Manglona, Carmen Toves, and Julita Calvo, and medicinal oil maker, Timothy San Nicolas. All four presenters are also to be featured in the upcoming directory of traditional healers. The writing and the publication of the directory is made possible from a grant from the Administration for Native Americans, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
